Welcome to The Fishbourne Centre - How to find us

State-of-the-art facilities in a rural setting only 1.5 miles to the west of Chichester make this an ideal venue for meetings, clubs, family celebrations, conferences, healthy living activities, music, drama - or just a relaxing drink and a chat.

The Fishbourne Centre was substantially redeveloped in 2010, made possible by generous support from The Big Lottery Fund, West Sussex County Council, Chichester District Council, local organisations and the residents of Fishbourne. The Centre is not a club - it is open to all - there is no membership requirement and access is not limited to Fishbourne residents.

It is owned by registered charity no. 305369 (Fishbourne Playing Field Association) and is run by Fishbourne Centre Trading Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary. There is a Centre Committee and also a Users' Group which provides feedback to help ensure that the Centre is offering a balanced programme that meets the needs of the whole of Fishbourne and the surrounding area. The Centre looks out onto 17 acres of Playing Field including cricket and football pitches, tennis courts, a croquet lawn, a bowling green, a multi-sport court and a secure children's play area.

The Centre offers:

  • A Main Hall with stage
  • Large (58 sq.m) and small (24 sq.m) meeting rooms which can be combined into a second hall. These rooms can be combined with the Main Hall to create a large function room area with private staffed bar.
  • Bar with pool table and sky TV.
  • Dining Area/Meeting Room
  • Kitchen
  • Entrance Hall
  • Internal and External toilets including provision for the disabled.

Feel free to drop in and see what the Centre can offer you. Staff are available to discuss your requirements most days from 10.00am.

The bar is open from 7pm every evening and from noon at weekends and bank holidays - everyone is welcome. You can also visit us outside of bar opening times but it is best to call ahead to be sure that someone will be available to meet you.

How to find us:

By train: Exit from Fishbourne station and turn right into Salthill Road: Walking down Salthill road, look out for an entry on the right to the playing fields: follow the path across the playing fields to the Centre.

By Bus: The 700 bus route between Brighton and Portsmouth and the local 56 bus route has stops on the A259 at Blackboy Lane and Salthill Road. Walk north up Blackboy Lane and the Centre is 5 mins on your right.

By Car:

From the A259 running through Fishbourne village, turn north up Blackboy Lane (signpost 'Fishbourne Centre'): Before the railway crossing on your right is the entrance to the Centre.
